Sunday October 10, 2010 represented day seven and the final day of the "Missions Week" celebration at Evangel Assembly, 5900 Old Branch Avenue, Temple Hills, Maryland 20748.
I wanted to take some time before filing my last day observations. I first want to thank Sarah Hearn for the pictures that she sent to the facebook family. I thank all the others writers and photogs for sharing their work, observations and experiences.
This year closer relationships were established and I felt, as a number of writers have shared, that our missionaries and guest will returned to their circle of influence appreciated, rested, more equipped to do the work of the Lord and to make a bigger impact as they are now better able serve those most in need.
I commend our leadership team, the Evangel family and each ministry for selflessly serving and doing as unto the Lord.
On Sunday 10.10.10 we sang of the Lord's great love to make an eternal stamp on all generations. The theme "All Generations" comes from Psalms 89:1. Sunday, brought an overflow capacity attendance. A high quality, high energy service which lifted up the name of Jesus through extended praise and worship, choir and youth performances, the presentation of the flag of the United States of America and a Parade of Flags from nations all around the world. What an awesome time!
There was time for military honors, governmental awards and a riveting message delivered by Evangel Assembly's Senior Pastor Reverend St. Clair Mitchell entitled "Your Time Has Come" inspired the book of Isaiah Chapter 6.
In his message Pastor Mitchell spoke of being selfless in our work, to focus on the work at hand and to serve unconditionally. He asked a sobering question..."Does God have your attention?" He stated that in order for anything to happen around the world, it must happen first in the church. The ultimate outcome of any effort is the glorification of God! God makes things to happen "I saw the Lord"...from Isaiah 6:1 God shows himself mighty at all times through any circumstances of life.
Overcoming selfishness requires us to understand the preeminence of God. God is in control of all things, this government and the affairs of the world. We must decrease so that God can increase in all things.
The day concluded with financial pledge commitments to the continued work of the missionaries and their work for the Lord.
As the missionaries and guests departed, they travelled to the north, south, east and west regions of the world and they go knowing that the Evangel community is with them and will undergird their efforts in service.
This week ended with a reminder that as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--

Evangel Assembly's "Missions Week" Finale on Sunday October 10, 2010
Our "Missions Week" finale takes place on Sunday October 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.
There will be the Presentation of Colors, The Parade of Flags, A Military Commendation to Brother Eric Dorsey, The Sanctuary Choir will perform with the Evangel Academy Dance Department. There are special music selection by Mo' Than Conquerors and Vizion. Finally Reverend St. Clair Mitchell Senior Pastor of Evangel Assembly will bring the Word of God, give an invitation to discipleship and oversee the Missions Pledge Ceremony.
Evangel Assembly thanks you for sharing "Missions Week" with us. We trust and pray that God will do a wonderful work in your life and in your ministry. We cannot wait to see what God has in store for all of us in the upcoming year.

The Preeminent God Glorified at Evangel Assembly's "Missions Week" Musical Extravaganza
Evangel Assembly's Music and Fine Arts Pastor Jesse G. Williams Jr., the Evangel Music and Fines Art team and invited musical guests delivered another well crafted and powerful "Musical Extravaganza".
This "Missions Week" program at Evangel Assembly 5900 Old Branch Avenue, Temple Hills, Maryland, offered music from traditional gospel to gospel with a Caribbean beat. There was powerful praise and worship, story telling through drama and dance, opportunities for exceptional giving and sacrifice, plus the joy of being able to laugh and cry all in the presence of Almighty God.
The Mistress of Ceremonies, Sister Clarissa Stroud, masterfully kept the program moving with grace and sensitivity as the Spirit of God moved over an almost capacity crowd.
Pastor Michael King, worship leader at Evangel Assembly delivered the Call to Worship and then lead Genesis, Evangel Assembly's anointed praise team as they ministered in song and graciously ushered us all into an audience with God.
We were treated to special musical performances by the Evangel Men's Ensemble and The Evangel Sanctuary Choir featuring the International Ministerial Network Mass Choir. We were blessed by the musical presentation of The Lopez Family representing the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. We were moved by the timely and powerful work of Evangel's youth through The Evangel Dance and Drama Ministry. We were lead into more passionate praise and worship by the Upon This Rock Tabernacle Choir of Washington D.C., The Higher Calling Choir from Lowndes County, Alabama, Mo' Than Conquerors of Tampa Florida and Vizion of Atlanta, Georgia.
We give thanks to God for the love, care and commitment put into this awesome musical offering. Through the time and commitment given, souls were saved. Hallelujah!
We must thank God for the leadership of Missions Pastor Eric Dorsey under the direction of Senior Pastor Reverend St. Clair Mitchell for making this week, a week to remember.

Missions Night at Evangel Assembly, A Huge Success!
Wednesday Night (day four) of Evangel Assembly's "Missions Week" was a huge success. Thanks to Master of Ceremonies and Evangel Assembly's Local Missions Team Leader Deacon Richard Bell and his wife Deaconess Jackie Bell for their faithfulness and for a job well done. Thanks to Sister Sarah Hearn, International Missions Team Leader for serving as a presenter. Thanks to Genesis, Vizion and The Higher Calling Choir for escorting us into praise and worship.
The celebration of missionaries, the missionary testimonies and the power of praise and worship ministered to the hearts, minds and spirits of each and every person in the Evangel sanctuary. Yet the evening was not complete. Evangel Assembly's Senior Pastor Reverend St. Clair Mitchell, delivered us a bonus, through his anointed closing remarks that served as a reminded us that we serve "The God of How".
Pastor Mitchell charged the men and women in attendance to move on what God has called them to do. Do not be afraid! If you have a calling on your life, move to get it done!
Using the scriptural examples of the "Virgin Mary" and "The Floating Axhead", among others, he charged the audience to remember that "what and why" always comes before "how". We must remember to trust God despite the difficulty or what may seem to be the impossible. If God has called you to move toward your purpose, move! He knows the plan He has for you. He has declared it! He knows who, what, where, when, why and "how". Therefore, move because you can trust and serve "The God of How".

Day Three of “Missions Week was lead by Pastor James Belle, Evangel Assembly’s Pastor of Pastoral Care and Prayer and co-host Reverend Tracy Turner, Evangel Prayer Leader and Teacher focused on a powerful night of praise and worship, testimonies and praying for the nations of the world.
Genesis, Evangel’s Worship Team, opened the night with powerful songs of praise and worship. Reverend James Belle followed with greetings, opening statements and introductions. He was followed by an incredible personal testimony declaring the favor, mercy and grace of God by Reverend Tracy Turner.
The program continued with leaders of Evangel Assembly presenting six flags of countries they represent and they then prayed for Nations around the world.
• Mr. Roy Ramalingam prayed for South America.
• Elder Charles Ceres prayed for Europe.
• Elder David Reyes prayed for North America (Canada and United States of America)
• Elder Anthony McPhee prayed for Asia,
• Elder Mikel Bush prayed for the West Indies and for the Evangel Leadership Team and
• Mr. Steven Underwood prayed for Africa.
Evangel children and youth presentations were made. Prayers for ministries were lifted up, liturgical dance was presented for the offertory and prayer in song was powerfully delivered by Ms. Joanne Sullivan.
The night ended with insights and challenges by Evangel Assembly’s Senior Pastor Reverend St. Clair Mitchell.

Day Three of the Evangel Assembly “Missions Week” celebration give us an opportunity to go before the Lord in Prayer. It gives us time to pray one for another and it gives us time to pray for the nations of the world.

Evangel Assembly’s Missions Week Day Two Ends in Success.
Monday, October 4, 2010, day two of Evangel Assembly’s Missions Week was the day designated for the 100 Mile Bike-A-Thon and for the 10 Mile-Walk-A-Thon. The day started with rain and cold temperatures around 50 degrees but it ended with a sense of great satisfaction as biker, walkers and runners crossed the finish line at 5900 Old Branch Avenue, Temple Hills, Maryland successfully in support of missions work worldwide. Praise the Lord!
Congratulation goes to Missions Pastor Eric Dorsey for completing the total 100 Mile Bike-A-Thon and thanks to all of the walkers and runners for completing their 10 Mile Walk-A-Thon commitment. The grand finale of day two ended with a celebratory cookout with Grill Master Mr. Kevin Dorsey and friends and with gospel reggae music played by Vizion of Clarkston, Georgia.

What a Great First Day of Missions Week

What a great 1st day of "Missions Week". Anointed praise and worship, powerful preaching by Rev. Yorke’ and Bishop Babb and a great partners meeting, God showed up!
We now lift up all of our 100 Mile Bike-A-Thon and our 10 Mile Walk-A-Thon participants. We pray for Mercy and Grace, Safety and Endurance for all of them. We also pray for a joyous time at the celebratory cookout at 3:30 p.m.
