Experience a Grandmother’s love as she shares with children the awesome story of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  She begins at the heart of the Jewish world, in fact, she begins at the heart of history in the city of Jerusalem 2000 years ago.  The Roman Empire is in power, Caesar Augustus rules and God, himself, will soon move through eternity and entered into time as the devil attempts to take dominion over all mankind.  But the devil, has never met the likes of “The Messiah”.

“THE STORY OF JONAH,” A YOUTH PRODUCTION

(Temple Hills, Maryland)  The Fine Arts Ministry of Evangel Assembly, located at 5900 Old Branch Avenue in Temple Hills, Maryland, presents “The Story of Jonah” on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at
3:00 p.m.

This production, which has a cast ranging in age from five years to adult, offers a contemporary twist on the biblical character of Jonah and the Ninevites.  This fun-filled production also includes an exhilarating mix of memorable sea-themed songs, colorful presentations and more.

In this story of God's loving concern for the people of Nineveh, the great menace to Israel, is representative of the Gentiles. Correspondingly, stubbornly reluctant Jonah represents Israel's jealousy of her favored relationship with God and her unwillingness to share the Lord's compassion with the nations.  The production reveals God’s commission to Jonah, his flight from his commission, punishment, deliverance and rebuke all from a youth’s perspective. The production is a modern day depiction of God's purpose for Israel, His desire that she might rediscover the truth of his concern for all creation and that she might better understand her own role in carrying out that concern.
Tickets for Jonah can be purchased at www.eagcs.org or the Evangel Assembly bookstore located at 5900 Old Branch Avenue, Temple Hills, MD.
  • Adult tickets in advance: $10.00
  • Children tickets in advance $5.00
